The decision was appealed by Mr Dennison but was dismissed by the Planning Inspectorate and the Secretary of State in September 2015

The application was refused under delegated powers for the following reasons: harmful affect on the character and appearance of the landscape, affect on the setting of Gleaston Castle a Grade 1 listed building, and insufficient evidence that nearby dwellings would not be affected by a noise nuisance.

This application was submitted on 17/3/14. There is a lot of local opposition to this turbine being out of character with the Morecambe bay area and close to the villages of Gleaston, Aldingham, Newbiggin and Dendron. There is also concern about the population of Lapwing and Skylark in the area.
