Wind Farm Status Proposal defeated

The application was refused by the committee. Congratulations everyone!

This proposed turbine is near the village of Gilcrux which has the Tallentire Wind farm close by. Residents already complain of problems of noise and flicker and there are concerns that the concrete foundations for the turbines may have caused flash flooding and diversion of natural springs that supplied the local trout farm.

This application was submitted on 11th Nov 2013 and details can be found at http://planning.allerdale.gov.uk/portal/servlets/ApplicationSearchServlet?PKID=110854

Natural England considers cumulative impact to be a key issue. There have also been objections from FORCE, Gilcrux and Blindcrake Parish Councils and the Solway Coast AONB as well as many local residents.

The application goes to Committee on 18th March 2014
