Breaking news 6/2/14

It has just been announced that SLDC's decision may be 'called in' by the Government. The Secretary of State will now review the application and decide if it will be referred to him for determination or be referred for public enquiry. Ministerial Direction

The SDLC planning officer recommended refusal, and there were objections from the following:  All the 9 parishes around Killington; Cumbria County Council; Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority; Natural England; Friends of the Lake District; Killington Wildlife Group; Yorkshire Dales Society; Friends of Kirkby Lonsdale and District Civic Society; The Open Spaces Society; Friends of Eden, Lakeland & Lunesdale Scenery (FELLS) as well as over 1,000 individual letters of objection Astonishingly the SLDC planning committee voted to approve the windfarm at their meeting on January 30th. This is a disaster for the Cumbrian countryside.

Status: Scoping report submitted, May 2012. Mast approved, June 2012. Application submitted October 2012.
